The Compensation Specialist provides compensation consultation services to ensure strategic plans are met and budgetary restraints are maintained while recruitment, retention, and internal equity issues are addressed.
Ensures compliance with Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA) and other federal and state regulations.
Consults with managers, directors and executives to develop and organize job structures that meet the needs of the organization.
Provides guidance and direction for compensation changes.
Provides and analyzes market data. Maintains salary structures and job grades.
Participates in compensation market surveys that are used by the organization for benchmarking; proactively providing analysis and recommendations based upon survey results. Conducts ongoing and special market analyses for market sensitive jobs, promotions, new positions, departmental and organization changes.
Analyzes the budget impact of compensation decisions. Develop compensation analytics and metrics reports for Compensation COE and HR team members.
Maintains corporate job catalog and aligns local job content to positions within the catalog. Facilitates entry of new positions into the corporate job catalog.
Supports the consulting team in identifying and securing sources of market data and ensures that market data is entered into supporting market pay technology.
Proactively assists in the development of compensation program recommendations to ensure the organization’s competitive position in relative markets, consistent with enterprise compensation philosophy statements.
Assists with the development and delivery of compensation program and policy communications.
Education & Experience:
HS or Equivalent and four years of compensation experience working at the enterprise level of a large organization, or Bachelor's degree and 3 years of compensation experience required.
Healthcare experience preferred.
