What will you do for us?

Our Medical Assistants assist with the examination and treatment of patients under the direction of a physician. Medical Assistants will also interview patients, measures vital signs as well as prepare treatment rooms for examination. Some of our physician practice offices also have Medical Assistants performing select clinical duties, including patient check-in, check-out and insurance verification, etc.

Office Description:

Float Pool staff pool will rotate to different physician practice offices throughout the Ascension Medical Group, located throughout 5 counties, including Macomb, Wayne, St Clair and Livingston counties. This is an excellent way to gain experience in a variety of office settings while learning how various practices, including specialty offices, operate within the Ascension Medical Group.

What qualifications are needed?

A high school diploma or equivalent degree as well as a Basic Life Support (BLS) Provider certification from the American Heart Association (AHA) are both required prior to hire. Medical Assistant certification or registration is required within the first 90 days of hire/transfer. Six (6) months of previous medical office experience is preferred.

What qualifications are wanted?

Reliable transportation is highly recommended for this position, as it does require travel to various physician practices within our St John Providence network. Ideal candidates will also have at least 3 days of availability Monday through Friday from 8am-5pm.
