The Resource Group’s national pharmacy team, in collaboration with other groups across Ascension, have been on a yearlong journey to identify potential opportunities in pharmacy. Through this work, we have identified several opportunities with significant financial impact in the retail, specialty, PBM, revenue cycle and infusion center areas. The following dot points represent potential preliminary opportunities that are still being discerned:
Retail Pharmacy - Identified a total annual revenue opportunity of $480M through a nationally aligned retail strategy that is focuses on small footprint pop-up retail pharmacies
Specialty Pharmacy - An initial analysis performed by Shields Health identified a $150M specialty opportunity in the Wisconsin Ministry Market
PBM – Identified $10 to $20M in potential annual savings for SmartHealth if we can establish a transparent PBM model
Infusion Centers: Identified $944K opportunity at St. Vincent Jacksonville
Revenue Cycle: Opportunity not yet identified
The Strategic Development and Implementation Manager will support the identification, coordination, implementation, and measurement of the pharmacy organization’s business operations to include but not limit to Retail, Specialty, Pharmacy Benefits Management, Revenue Cycle, Infusion Centers, etc.
Develops and implements performance improvement activities to include medication safety, medication use evaluation and pharmacoeconomics.
Conducts competency assessments and coordinates the training and development of pharmacists, pharmacy residents and pharmacy students.
Develops and manages departmental budget to promote pharmacoeconomics.
Ensures compliance with federal, state, and Board of Pharmacy rules and regulations. Also serves on various committees.
Drug Enforcement Admin.
Bachelor's degree required.
Master's degree preferred.
