Based in Saginaw, St. Mary’s of Michigan is a regional health system offering high quality care in cardiovascular, neurosciences, orthopedics, emergency and trauma, cancer, bariatrics, imaging diagnostics, and primary care. A part of Ascension since 1999, we offer 268 beds and over 20 specialty centers to provide access and care for people from over 70 counties.
The Sonographer performs diagnostic procedures on patients using ultrasound waves to examine tissue and body structure, providing quality images to radiologists and physicians for interpretation.
Sets up and adjusts all equipment and manually maneuvers transducers to perform exams.
Implements safety standards and performs appropriate quality control procedures.
Performs routine and complex studies and assists physician in a variety of imaging procedures.
Recognizes significant structures, artifacts, pathology and equipment limitations.
All other duties as assigned.
Certified BLS Provider obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date.
Registered Diagnostic Medical Sonographer (RDMS) or registry eligible; Registered Vascular Technologist (RVT)or registry eligible; Registered Cardiac Sonographer (RCS) or registry eligible; or American Registry of ARRT Registered Technologist as required in clinical procedural area.
Associates Degree required Must be a graduate of an Allied Health and Education accredited sonography program or equivalent and Previous experience in clinical procedural area preferred.
