Job Description

Job Summary:

The Clinical Nurse Manager will manage the activities, workflow and nursing resources at Borgess Pipp, which is a long-term acute care facility.

Responsibilities:

  • Ensures compliance with regulatory and accreditation requirements.

  • Assists with hiring, training, directing, development and evaluating of nursing staff.

  • Identifies and resolves issues affecting the delivery of patient care services for the assigned unit(s). Develops and implements policies and procedures to ensure efficient and effective delivery of health services in a unit.

  • Monitors and adheres to budget(s). Approves or monitors expenditures, purchases and other actions to ensure compliance with budget guidelines.

  • Provides leadership in the coordination of departmental activities and the resolution of operational and patient care issues.

  • Provides leadership in the coordination of infection control, quality assessment/improvement, patient education, and staff development.

  • Assists the Director of Clinical Services with the management of human and financial resources and the utilization of these resources while upholding the standards of professional nursing practice and regulatory agencies.

  • Adhere to the organization's Corporate Compliance program; adherence, includes but is not limited to, attendance at mandatory Corporate Compliance in-services, carrying out position responsibilities consistent with program guidelines, and reporting any violation of Corporate Compliance.

Qualifications

Licenses/Certifications/Registration:

  • Required Credential(s):

  • Advanced Life Support credentialed from the American Heart Association (AHA) obtained within 6 Months (180 days) of hire date or job transfer date.

  • BLS Provider credentialed from the American Heart Association (AHA) obtained within 3 Months (90 days) of hire date or job transfer date.

  • Finger Printing obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date.

  • Licensed Registered Nurse obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date.

Education:

  • Bachelor's degree in Nursing or Healthcare field required or will enroll in an accredited degree completion program within one (1) year of start date. Completion of degree within four (4) years of start date. Master's degree preferred.

  • Three (3) years of clinical experience within an acute care setting; critical care or emergency department experience desirable.

  • Previous management experience preferred.
