Must be enrolled in a pharmacy degree program and have completed the second year of the pharmacy degree program.

May through August up to full time hours (40 hours/week). Up to 50% of worked hours will be spent on pharmacy projects. Rotating shifts with first shift hours starting between 6:30am and 7:30am and ending between 3:00pm and 4:00pm and second shift hours starting between 2:30pm and 3:00pm and ending between 11:00pm and 11:30pm. Availability to work rotating weekends throughout the year is highly preferred.

Job Description

Job Summary:

The Pharmacy Intern performs the duties of a staff pharmacist under the direct supervision of a licensed pharmacist.

Responsibilities:

  • Under direct supervision, maintains proper narcotic documentation and ensures proper distribution of narcotic medications.

  • Under direct supervision, ensures appropriate selection of dosing, administering and monitoring of medication.

  • Dispenses medications accurately for delivery to patient care areas. May compound medications.

  • Assists pharmacists with maintaining and monitoring patient profiles. Provides medication information and education to medical staff and patients.

Qualifications

Education:

  • Bachelor's Level Degree

  • Bachelors Degree required. Must be enrolled in a Pharmacy Degree program.

Work Experience:

  • No experience required.
