Qualified candidates must either have: previous experience in an acute care hospital setting; previous work experience with oncology drugs; or a minimum of three years’ experience as a Pharmacy Technician.

Job Description

Job Summary:

Serves as team leader of the pharmacy technicians while performing the duties of a Pharmacy Technician.

Full-Time,Rotating, 40 hours,Weekly

Up to 50% of work time to spent offline on projects and process management

Primarily second shift with occasional first shift obligations. Every other weekend staffing component and 3 holiday shifts per year

Responsibilities:

  • Schedules and assigns daily work assignments for pharmacy staff.

  • Oversees daily activities of pharmacy technicians under the direction of the pharmacist and management. Participates in problem solving within the department.

  • Assists with inventory management of controlled substances and assures completion of routine medication inspections of drug storage areas.

  • Serves as a liaison between pharmacy management and technicians.

  • Develops workflow processes for technician roles.

  • Evaluates technicians in GPS Performance Management.

  • Ensures accountability for technician functions that are shared between roles.

  • Tracks errors and develops PDSA cycles for performance improvement.

Qualifications

Licenses/Certifications/Registration:

  • Preferred Credential(s):

  • BLS Provider credentialed from the American Heart Association (AHA).

  • Certified Pharmacy Tech credentialed from the Pharmacy Technician Certification Board (PTCB).

Education:

  • HS or Equivalent

  • High School Diploma or equivalent required Associate's Degree or graduate of an approved pharmacy technician training program preferred
