What you will do:
Performs basic and advanced diagnostic sleep studies.
Prepares patient and equipment for ordered testing. Interviews patient to determine sleep disorder issues and to explain testing procedures.
Performs and documents testing. Monitors patient throughout testing and intervenes as necessary to resolve patient needs or equipment issues.
Collect, analyze and integrate patient information to identify and meet patient-specific needs; scores, interprets and reports results of sleep studies.
Prepares, calibrates, repairs and maintains equipment required for testing. Determines and reports needed repairs/replacements.
BLS Provider credentialed from the American Heart Association (AHA) obtained within 1.5 Months (45 days) of hire date or job transfer date.
Registered Sleep Technician specializing in Polysomnography credentialed from the Board of Registered Polysomnograhic Technologists (BRPT) obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date.
Completed polysomnographic technology program accredited by the Commission on Accreditation of Allied Health Education Programs (CAAHEP) or the Commission on Accreditation for Respiratory Care (CoARC) required
- Successfully complete a program in polysomnographic technology accredited by the Commission on Accreditation of Allied Health Education Programs (CAAHEP) or the Commission on Accreditation for Respiratory Care (CoARC) with a polysomnography add-on program upon date of hire. OR: Candidates must hold an approved Allied Health Credential AND Complete a minimum of 6 months of paid direct patient care clinical experience in polysomnography recording and scoring upon date of hire OR Candidates must include proof of completing secondary education GED or equivalent or college or university education. Candidates must complete a minimum of 18 months of paid direct patient care clinical experience in polysomnography recording and scoring. Candidates must complete the AASM A-STEP Self-Study (online) Modules or a upon date of hire.
