Job Description

Job Summary:

Evaluates and treats patients requiring speech-language therapy.


  • Performs therapy interventions utilizing standard therapy techniques and skills as appropriate for the condition of the patient.

  • Educates and counsels patient and family regarding treatment plans.

  • Maintains clinical records and follows performance improvement recommendations.

  • Plans and/or assists with patient discharge from speech therapy services. Provides information regarding appropriate support programs.



  • Required Credential(s):

  • BLS Provider credentialed from the American Heart Association (AHA) obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date.

  • Require Current Illinois license as Speech-language Pathologist or Temporary license as Speech-Language Pathologist if in Clinical Fellowship Year. Recommend Current Certificate of Clinical Competence from the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association.


  • Master's Level Degree

  • Work requires knowledge generally acquired through completion of a Master's or doctoral degree in Speech-Language Pathology from a program accredited by the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association Master’s level candidates and above considered

Work Experience:

  • Supervisory experience preferred.

  • Masters in Speech Pathology, completion of CCCValid Illinois License for practice of Speech PathologyValid CPRMinimal 2 years experience in adult acute care, experience with inpatient acute rehab care desirable but not necessary, experience with VFSS desirable but not necessary

  • Fridays, Saturdays, Sundays (minimal 2 weekend days/month) and holiday rotation- flexible start/stop times
