About Us

Why choose Peyton Manning?

Interesting fact: St Vincent’s had the very first Pediatric ER in the state of Indiana !

On Sept. 5, 2007, the former Indianapolis Colts Quarterback partnered with St. Vincent to announce the renaming of St. Vincent Children's Hospital to Peyton Manning Children’s Hospital. Eleven years later, his commitment is stronger than ever. Manning and his wife Ashley donated $1 million of the $2.2 million-dollar cost of the expansion and helped lead fundraising efforts for the remaining money. We recently unveiled our new pediatric intensive care unit where we increased the number of beds by more than 50 percent, adding eight beds to the 15 already in place. We proudly have 23 beds and 2 ECMO rooms staffed 24/7 by board certified Pediatric Intensivists. Each of the 23 private rooms can convert to treat a patient from newborn to a young adult in his or her early 20s with a developmental disability. The rooms are magically outfitted to serve a variety of ages, some with beds, some with bassinets, each with a stuffed animal atop it.
