Job Description

Job Summary:

The Supply Tech-Receiving, receives goods as ordered and delivered and processes packing slips into departmental computer systems.


  • Verifies receipt of items against packing slip. Checks in items against purchase orders.

  • Enters inventory received into database for tracking.

  • Processes returned items for shipping and schedules pick up.

  • Investigates and troubleshoots any received goods for issues/problems.

  • Works in multiple areas of the department including the receiving dock and stock pick-up areas.

  • Contacts approved vendors to reorder routine supplies, processes paperwork related to supply requests as assigned.

  • May maintain Material Safety Data Sheets (MSDS) associated with purchases of chemical products.

  • Ensures proper care in the use and maintenance of equipment and supplies; promotes continuous improvement of workplace safety and environmental practices.

  • Performs clerical duties related to maintaining stock inventories and stock shelves; may operate a computer, motor vehicle, and/or electric motor hand truck or hand/rider truck.

  • Other Duties as assigned

  • Follows safe guidelines and limitations for receiving, transporting, and stocking of intravenous (IV) fluids as related to specified essential job duties. Ensures that intravenous (IV) fluids are kept safe and secure, have not been tampered with and are not expired. Intravenous(IV) fluids are defined as solutions containing 5 % dextrose, 0.9 % sodium chloride or combinations of these two solutions.


Education and Work Experience:

  • HS or Equivalent. Preferred: previous experience in related field

  • Ability to receive, stock, deliver goods, control inventory and/or work with customers. Skilled in the use of personal computers and/or related software applications required.
